1996 Everest Tragedy: Makalu Gau's Story
Nepalese Army helicopter pilot Madan K.C. lands his helicopter in a flat spot near Camp I to retrieve Makalu Gau and Beck Weathers. Madan twice flew to near 20,000 feet to effect the most dramatic helicopter rescues in Everest history.
